CERITH  GLOBE 1999  MIXED MEDIA  Wood

 21”x 24’x  .75”  Glazed , Straw Base

Before “The Cove, Atlantis” came to be, there was a beach  called Paradise, Paradise.  This stretch of sheltered sand captured thousands of the shells pictured, called Ceriths, every year.  I loosely estimate there are about 3000 shells here and the only piece I have done like this.  It is ironic to note that while access to this beach is now restricted to employees and guests of “Atlantis”, it is now attracts thousands of visitors from all over the world.
