LOWTIDE 2005 Mixed Media Glass and Wood  4’X 22” X 3/4   Contact Artist

Featuring 25 Shades of  Authentic Sea Glass .  On Display at The National Gallery of The Bahamas

On what seemed like normal weather conditions, the tides did something very special the year I made this piece.  It had pushed all this incredible glass seen in this piece  into a loose pile near the shore of one of my favorite spots.  As a result something extremely rare happened for me as collector and artist ;  I acquired all of the glass for a piece in one swoop.  I thought I had won the lottery, scooping up as much as I could until  the tide started to creep up.  My husband estimated that we carried at least fifty pounds of glass back on the 1/4 mile trek back to the boat.  I reluctantly left the beach that day reassuring myself that I could always come back.  I did return many times, like a pirate looking for lost treasure, but have never experienced such a phenomenon since.
